I don't know any kid, young or old, that doesn't like video games. I myself like games that challenge my eye and mind, not the shootem up games but puzzle type games.

One problem with games though is content. They've got great animation and graphics but the topics leave a bit to be desired. You steal, kill and fight your way through mazes and towns and the more blood that spatters the more the kids seem to like it. Parents on the other hand are a different story.

Well, I was recently given the opportunity to review some PC games by LB Games. That's LB as in Left Behind and all these games are rated E for Everyone. I received 5 games total and even though 4 of them were meant for someone much younger than I am, I really enjoyed them.


Charlie Church Mouse Super Pak ($19.99) is for the youngest in the family. This is a 3 game set for Preschool, Kindergarten and Early Elementary. Through 18 Bible stories such as Johan and the Whale, Noah's Ark, The Prodigal Son, there are 3 levels for each age group.

Preschool (ages 2-4) they learn colors, shapes, numbers, letters and counting

Kindergarten (ages 4-6) they learn counting, sequencing, measurements, spatial awareness and sorting.

Early Elementary (ages 6-8) they learn greater/less than, addition/subtraction, spelling, synonyms/antonyms and telling time.




King Solomon's Trivia Challenge ($19.99) is of course a quiz game. It's set up like a game show with contestants and a host. It tests your Biblical knowledge in 5 different categories. You get to choose your character and can challenge your family and friends to a fun game.









Keys of the Kingdom  ($19.98)is a brain teasing logic game. In this game you travel back in time and try to try to help Sir Lancelot save the township from the oppressive king. You have to solve puzzles in your journey to the King's Castle. Each puzzle contains a powerful Bible verse.


Left Behind: Rise of the Anti Christ ($29.99) is a bit more difficult and I think adults will like this game. It's a real time strategy game based on the Left Behind book series by Tom Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins. This is the third chapter of the Left Behind PC Game series and includes 46 single player missions, 3 multiplayer modes, 39 maps and a robust skirmish mode where you play against the computer yourself or with up to 7 friends online.

The game takes place in future New York City on the brink of WWIII. You combat the Antichrist's forces in both physical and spiritual warfare. You use the power of prayer and worship to resist their attacks.

They say this is geared towards players age 13 and up and I'm sure a 13 year old would probably be able to get into the game a lot faster than I did.

Praise Champion Karaoke World Tour  ($29.99) was my favorite. This game comes with a microphone that hooks to your computer and makes you a star. It contains 40 top praise and worship songs as well as 20 bonus Christmas Songs. 1-4 can play and sing together and compete for the highest score. You can practice and get feedback, sing for an audience and even make a recording with soundboard controls that turns your computer into a karaoke machine.



In this game you can choose your character, clothing and singing venues. When you record you can add effects such as reverb and chorus.

This is the point where I should have uploaded a recording I made but I really don't want you to run off screaming. To be honest, even though I love to sing and I can sing loudly, I'm really bad at it.

I could see these games becoming family favorites where everyone can play along and join the fun. I can even see them being used in Sunday Schools and Youth Groups.
