Beam N Read ® Hands Free Lights Review
I love to cook outside and living in the south that means I can cook out all year. The only problem I have is sometimes seeing the food I'm cooking. You know when you want to cut into a nice thick juicy steak to see if it's perfectly cooked inside. I moved the grill closer to the house so the light would shine on it but that didn't work. In order for the light to hit the grill I had to be off to the side and now I couldn't reach the food. That was solved when I got the opportunity to review the Beam N Read ® Hands Free Lights.
Beam N Read ® Hands Free Lights is a row of lights that hangs on a strap around your neck. You can adjust the height of the lights by tilting the lamp head. It's great and I can now see my food and continue to enjoy my favorite way to cook a steak or roast. I mean, come on, nothing tastes better than a grilled steak or roast now does it. Well, maybe going out to eat is a tad easier but you know what I mean.
There are several versions of the Beam N Read ® Hands Free Lights available but I received the 3 LED and 6 LED versions. Both are great and depending on the task you'd need it for most either will fit my needs.
Beam N Read LED 3 Hands Free Light
The BNR LED 3 features 3 bright energy saving LEDs and includes 4 AA Batteries. A distinguishing feature is the extra long battery life. A set of 4 standard alkaline AA batteries lasts for a lengthy 120 hours at full brightness, compared to 20 to 40 hours advertised for some competing products. The clip-on red filter can be used to soften the light and help avoid night blindness when switching between light and dark conditions. MSRP $19.95
Beam N Read LED 6 Deluxe Hands Free Light
The BNR LED 6 features 6 bright LEDs in a row to provide an extra wide and extra bright light. Many needle-crafters prefer the extra wide light. It also includes an acrylic Fresnel 4x5 inch magnifier for detail work with a hinged clip which allows both light and magnifier to be adjusted for optimum positioning. 4 AA batteries (not included in the BNR LED 6) last 48 hours at full brightness. The BNR LED 6 includes a clip-on red filter to help avoid night blindness when switching between light and dark conditions and a clip-on pale orange filter that delivers a warmer color than standard LEDs. With the extra wide light, magnifier, and filters the BNR LED 6 is our most popular light. MSRP $26.95
The light of course can be used for more than outdoor cooking. Do you enjoy reading but don't always have enough light. This is perfect. Need to work under the hood of your car but don't have enough light. Again, this is great. Maybe you need to work under the sink or behind an appliance where we all know lighting is at a minimum. You got it, perfect for that. It's even good for sneaking a peek at the baby during the night without waking him/her up or a private trip for a midnight snack you don't want to share. After having worked in a hospital and being a patient I can even see this coming in handy for making rounds, checking patients and IV's on the midnight shift without startling the patient awake without having to turn on the huge, bright overhead light. An added bonus of the 6 LED light was the magnifier. This was treat for threading that needle or reading fine print.

Below are actual photographs I took when cooking outside. You can see the difference this light has made.

this sounds great for my bad eyesight to type without turning on the 'big' light, seeing in the oven, and that area in our pantry that the light just doesn't reach...
...mostly typing without the big light, though... lol

Thanks Tawnda...The link should be fixed now.
I'm digging a repro of the tunnels of Cu Chi Vietnam, and could use Beam N Read Light. Everybody knows that tunnels are dark.
Hope to win!

I'd love this for our late night hang-outs on the back patio :)

I could use this for removing splinters from my kids and myself. This would also be wonderful for building small train houses that I've been doing with my son. The pieces are so small and hard for me to see and this would be so helpful. Thanks so much.

lol you may find this strange, but I am an avid poker player. One of the places our league plays is a dark bar, where it is difficult to see my "pocket" cards. This would be the perfect problem solver, as I could put it around my neck, where it wouldn't bother people sitting across from me and could aim it at my pocket cards...Linda sharpasice@aol.com

This would be for our 4yo son. He likes to 'read' with his LeapFrog Tag Reader in the car & we've been looking for a book light for him. This looks like just the thing... We've tried other book lights and they wind up broken right away(flimsy construction). This way he could wear it and it wouldn't be in the way. Plus he absolutely LOVES flash lights!

I am thinking for reading during car trips and when we are grilling. Sometimes the day gets away from us and we end up grilling well after dark

I was just diagnosed with macular degeneration at age 52
so its getting harder for me to see/read I need better lighting more up close which lamps don't help so this would be great for my daily life
I would use mostly when I'm on my computer which is daily and for many hours, then when doing things around my home to help me see better
Thank you so very much for giving me a chance to be a winner
Thank you for all your time, effort and hard work

How it would be used in our household is me with reading or typing, my husband would kill for using it with the bbq and my son likes reading in the car but we won't let him turn on the in car light as it is distracting to the driver.

Would be a nice addition for reading a Kindle or for doing close work like working on the inside of a computer
6 led would make a good bike lite attach to helmet or handle bars
In bed - reading while the spouse is sleeping.
