Vholdr Contour HD Camcorder

I was so happy to review the VholdR Contour HD Wearable Camcorder by Twenty20.

The Contour HD is the first,, lightest HD Helmet Camera. It comes complete with a flat surface mount to be used on helmets and even automobiles and a goggle mount. In the box is the Micro SD Card, USB Adapter and battery.

Before I used the camera the first time I plugged it into my computer to charge which took about 4 hours. Now I had to find something to film. I wasn't planning on going skiing, skydiving or biking that day so I used it as a handheld and took the puppies outside. There are 2 modes you can shoot in HD and SD. Since I wanted to get the true experience of the video I choose HD mode and aimed in the general direction of my puppies. Since the camera is meant to be mounted to shoot the scenery as you're involved in an active lifestyle there's no viewfinder and no zooming. That was no problem. What I got was beautiful footage of my backyard and my puppies running around.

Now to get the video on my camera. I installed the VholdR desktop from the Micro SD Card but I could have downloaded it from their website. I imported the clip and then could edit out what I didn't want. It was so simple. There's even a microphone for sound. How cool is that.

I wish I'd had this a few years ago when I drove west through the Badlands and Black Hills. Holding that camcorder while maneuvering through the pigtails and 1 lane roads was a real bear.

The VholdR Contour HD retails for $249.99 but I did see it on Amazon for less.
